SEGMENTAL LASER STRIPPING OF THIN COATINGS ON MONOLITHIC CUTTING TOOLS

This study outlines the methodology of new approach laser stripping technique in functional surfaces monolithic cutting tools. Starting from initialization test coating thickness using a calotest including beam-material interaction test, through introduction main geometrical elements necessary for analysis tool, discusses segmental its evaluation, where effects different segment modifications (overlapping, resizing, rotation or reordering) were investigated. The influence presented technology on microgeometry tool was beneficial several points view: area around edge can be influenced by polarization beam and resulting radius values show no negative substrate laser.
